The project was developed in collaboration with one of DAK’s long-term partners, who returned to Ethiopia for a third consecutive year to continue experimenting with fermentation and yeast cultivation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-end=\"834\" data-start=\"609\"\u003eThe result is intensely fruity but remarkably controlled. Originally natural forest land, the site was identified by Daye Bensa cofounder Mulugeta Dukamo during the construction of Gafisse Station. Coffee planting began in 2013, with the drying station established in 2017. The surrounding forest still plays an important role today, providing natural shade for both the farm and drying infrastructure.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-end=\"1567\" data-start=\"1220\"\u003eThe project also has a strong community focus. Plantation work, harvesting and processing are carried out largely by local residents, with women heavily involved in quality control and processing.
