NOMAD – Bombe Natural 250g | Ethiopia

Bombe is a coffee NOMAD come back to every year, and this is the natural-processed espresso roast of it. It comes from the Ayla station in Ethiopia's Sidamo region, run by Testi Specialty Coffee, sitting at 1950 to 2000 metres above sea level. Roughly 800 smallholder farmers deliver cherry to the station, most of them working plots of around half a hectare — small enough that the coffee in any given bag represents a great many separate farms rather than one estate's decisions.

The varieties are JARC 74110 and 74158, two of the selections released by Ethiopia's Jimma Agricultural Research Center. The processing is natural — the cherry is dried whole, with the fruit left on the seed throughout.

Tasting notes of candied fruit, pomegranate and hops. Behind those come blueberries, milk chocolate and dates, with a creamy body and a juicy acidity.
