NOMAD – Bochesa 250g | Ethiopia
About This Coffee
This washed Ethiopian espresso from Bochesa Station is a vibrant and beautifully structured coffee that showcases the clarity and sweetness Sidama is capable of producing at high altitude.
Grown in Arbegona Wereda in eastern Sidama at elevations between 2,000 and 2,100 metres above sea level, the coffee comes from more than 800 small local producers cultivating native Ethiopian varieties including 74110 and 74112. Founded in 2022, Bochesa Station has quickly developed a reputation for meticulous processing and a strong community-focused approach, supporting growers through premium payments, seedlings and ongoing investment into local infrastructure.
The processing is exceptionally detailed. After careful hand selection, the coffee is pulped and fermented in temperature-controlled water tanks for 12–16 hours before undergoing a second washing stage. Drying then takes place slowly on raised African beds for 10–14 days, followed by a stabilisation period in parchment before export. The result is an espresso with remarkable cleanliness, structure and flavour separation.
In the cup, expect juicy notes of nectarine and tangerine layered over a smooth honeyed sweetness. As the coffee cools, softer notes of cocoa powder, peach and a subtle tropical brightness begin to emerge, leading into a delicate floral finish.
This is a modern Ethiopian espresso that feels expressive and vibrant while still remaining beautifully balanced and easy to drink.
