TANAT – Las Margaritas [Geisha Natural] 100g | Colombia
About This Coffee
Las Margaritas is one of five farms run by Café Granja La Esperanza, the family operation behind some of Colombia's most closely watched Geisha. This natural-processed lot carries the variety's usual clarity into riper, more tropical territory — rum, lavender and cardamom sit alongside the fruit, giving the cup an unusual depth for a natural.
The farm sits in Caicedonia, in the Valle del Cauca, at 1,570 to 1,850 metres — among the highest of Café Granja La Esperanza's holdings, and the one most dedicated to Geisha. The Herrera family, now three generations into the business, were early movers on the variety in Colombia: Rigoberto Herrera began bringing Geisha seed back from a Panama project in the mid-2000s, after a Best of Panama win, and has spent the years since refining how it performs on Colombian soil rather than simply replicating the Panamanian model.
This lot is processed natural, with the cherries fermented whole for 72 hours before drying — a long fermentation that pushes the variety's usual floral lift toward something richer and more liqueur-like, which is where the rum and cardamom in the cup come from.
Freshly roasted by TANAT in Paris and imported to the UK by ROAST EDIT Co.
