Tim Wendelboe – Finca El Puente Geisha 250g | Honduras
Finca El Puente is at Chinacla in the La Paz department of Honduras, farmed by Marysabel Caballero and Moises Herrera. This is their Geisha, and it makes a useful counterpoint to the coffees the cultivar is best known for.
Geisha is famous for floral aromatics and citric acidity, and this lot carries both. Where it diverges is in structure: Tim Wendelboe note that Panamanian Geishas are typically light in the body, while this Honduran-grown version has a heavier mouthfeel, slightly lower acid intensity and a subtle herbal note on the finish.
Cherries are hand picked by local pickers who are paid extra to separate ripe from unripe as they go, keeping the two in different bags rather than sorting after the fact. De-pulping follows in the afternoon.
The coffee is washed. Tim Wendelboe describes the cup as sweet mandarin, jasmine and honey.
Freshly roasted by Tim Wendelboe in Oslo and imported to the UK by ROAST EDIT Co.
