DAK – Currant Mood 250g | Kenya
About This Coffee
Tekangu Farmers Cooperative Society is located in Nyeri, one of Kenya’s most celebrated coffee-growing regions, where high elevations, fertile volcanic soils and cool temperatures create ideal conditions for producing vibrant and structured coffees. This washed lot brings together several classic Kenyan varieties — SL-28, SL-34, Batian and Ruiru 11 — grown at around 1,900 metres above sea level and carefully processed to highlight clarity, brightness and balance in the cup.
Currant Mood is one of the first fresh Kenyan arrivals of the season and captures the lively, expressive profile that makes the origin so sought after each year. Clean and precise, it delivers the unmistakable character of a classic high-grown Kenyan coffee while remaining elegant and highly drinkable.
The cup opens with vivid notes of blackcurrant jam and rose, supported by delicate black tea characteristics and a bright, juicy acidity. The structure is crisp yet balanced, with layered sweetness and a refined finish that carries floral and dark fruit notes long after the final sip. A beautifully clean and expressive Kenyan profile with freshness and vibrancy throughout.
Freshly roasted by DAK Coffee Roasters in Amsterdam and imported to the UK by ROAST EDIT Co.
