NOMAD – Kathima 250g | Kenya
About This Coffee
Sourced from the Mathare-ini washing station in Murang’a County, this coffee comes from over 900 smallholder farmers working under the Thangaini Farmers Cooperative Society on the fertile slopes of the Aberdare Mountains. Grown at altitude in rich volcanic soils, a mix of classic Kenyan varieties such as SL-28 and SL-34 alongside Batian and Ruiru-11 produces a cup defined by clarity, structure, and precision. Cherries are hand-picked and delivered the same day, before undergoing a meticulous washed process involving controlled fermentation, density sorting, and slow drying on raised beds. The result is a vibrant and expressive profile, showcasing notes of yuzu, yellow kiwi, and dried apricot, layered with floral complexity and hints of pink melon and tangerine papaya. Juicy acidity, a creamy body, and a long, refined finish make this a standout example of modern Kenyan coffee at its most elegant.
Freshly roasted by NOMAD Coffee in Barcelona and imported to the UK by ROAST EDIT Co.
