TANAT – Hacienda La Esmeralda [Buenos Aires 3BANC] 100g | Panama
About This Coffee
Hacienda La Esmeralda is the farm that changed how the world values coffee. In 2004, the Peterson family entered their Geisha from the Jaramillo estate into the Best of Panama auction and broke every record that existed — setting in motion two decades of Panama Geisha becoming one of the most sought-after coffees on earth.
The Buenos Aires parcel sits at 1,700 metres within the Jaramillo estate in Boquete, Chiriquí. This lot is an anaerobic natural — cherries pre-dried for three days on raised beds, then fermented for five days in sealed stainless steel tanks in a refrigerated room, and finally dried slowly over 35 days in a climate-controlled environment. The precision is visible in the cup: aromatic clarity that anaerobic naturals don't always achieve.
What you get is tropical and expansive — pineapple and mango first, then dried jasmine running underneath, a guava sweetness in the mid-palate, and a long finish that settles into something close to spiced rum. A filter coffee with competition ambition.
Freshly roasted by TANAT in Paris and imported to the UK by ROAST EDIT Co.
